Clean Agent Systems
Fast, effective, people safe and environmentally friendly fire suppression.

Healey Fire offers Fluoro-K (FK 5-1-12) and FM-200 clean agent fire suppression systems as well as a wide array of Inert Gas fire suppression systems that provide a total flood fire protection solution to protect valuable assets in occupied areas. These gaseous agents are fast, effective, people safe and environmentally friendly and are recognized by NFPA 2001 Standards.
How it Works
Clean agent systems release a non-toxic, non-conductive gas that rapidly extinguishes fire through heat absorption and chemical reaction—without water. If downtime or data loss is a deal-breaker, clean agent systems are your first line of defense.
Features & Benefits:
• Fast acting, with discharge in seconds.
• Harmless to electronics and documents.
• Ideal for data centers, control rooms, and medical facilities.

CO2 Systems
High and low pressure CO2 utilizes total flooding and local application for fire suppression.

When speed and strength matter—especially in industrial settings—CO2 delivers. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, and chemically inert gas that is both readily available and electrically non-conductive. It is extremely effective an extinguishing fire by both lowering the level of oxygen that supports combustion and by cooling. CO2 suppression systems may be designed to deliver gas through a total flooding approach and/or local application.
How It Works:
CO₂ is discharged into the hazard zone, displacing oxygen and smothering the fire. It’s most effective in enclosed, unoccupied areas.
Features & Benefits:
• Fast, powerful suppression.
• No residue or water damage.
• Highly effective on electrical and flammable liquid fires.

Learn more: Carbon dioxide may be stored in either high pressure spun steel cylinders (HPCO2 suppression systems) or low pressure light wall refrigerated tanks (LPCO2 suppression systems). CO2 systems are ideal for industrial processes where flammable materials and vapors present a fire hazard.
Specialty Detection
Critical industrial and commercial operations in high-hazard environments require specialty detection.

Critical industrial and commercial operations in high-hazard environments require solutions that can reliably and quickly address the specific needs of these high-risk situations. Specialty detection systems often utilize a combination of fire alerts and suppression agents to protect critical areas of operation.

Learn more about specialty detection: Specialty detection systems can include optical flame detection, combustible/toxic gas detection, air sampling smoke detection, and linear and spot-type heat detection solutions that report to intelligent fire alarm system controls that can initiate suppression, notification, process interface and more.
Inert Gas Systems
Protect assets - people, electronics, and equipment with inert gas systems as part of your fire suppression solution.

In the event of a fire, inert gas systems release gases like nitrogen or argon into an enclosed area, reducing oxygen levels just enough to stop a fire—without harming people or electronics. This type of system is perfect for server rooms, archives, or museums where water or chemicals would do more harm than good. The Kidde-Fenwal Natura Inert Gas System provides superior protection and delivers peace of mind knowing your assets are safe in the event of a fire.
Features & Benefits:
• No damage to equipment or files.
• Safe for use around people.
• Leaves no residue—no cleanup needed.

Water Mist Systems
Environmentally conscious fire suppression.

Water mist consists of very small water droplets and uses a fraction of the water that traditional sprinkler systems use. Mist suppression provides the best of both worlds—effective fire suppression with minimal cleanup or collateral damage.
How It Works:
These systems spray very fine water droplets that cool the fire and displace oxygen around the flame. The mist absorbs heat quickly without flooding the area.
Features & Benefits:
• Uses far less water than traditional sprinklers.
• Minimizes water damage.
• Safe for use around sensitive electronics and machinery.

From our website: Water mist has a greater surface area, allowing it to absorb heat more rapidly and effectively cool both the fire and the surrounding areas. This type of system is also ideal for applications where water availability, containment and drainage are concerns.
Explosion Suppression Systems
Fire protection that detects the very first signs of an explosion.

Explosion suppression systems use less water to ensure less downtime with minimal damage. The system works to suppress, isolate or vent combustible dust or vapor deflagrations – protecting vital facilities against explosions. It’s not just fire protection—it’s explosion prevention, giving you a proactive safety net.
How It Works:
These systems detect the very first signs of an explosion (like pressure spikes or flame fronts) and instantly release a suppressant to stop it before it fully develops.
Features & Benefits:
• Prevents costly equipment loss and downtime.
• Protects people and processes in high-risk industries like milling, metalworking, and chemical production.
• Often paired with venting systems to relieve pressure safely.

From the IEP Technologies website: "An explosion suppression system consists of three components: a detector; control unit; and suppressor(s). In the event an ignition occurs, the fireball expands from the ignition kernel with the pressure wave (created by the increase in temperature) traveling ahead of the flame front. Explosion pressure detectors are configured to respond to the characteristic pressure increase within milliseconds."
Foam Systems
Environmentally friendly and sustainable fire suppression with foam systems.

Foam fire suppression systems create a foam blanket over fire and flammable vapors while providing a cooling effect. Foam systems not only extinguish fires fast—they also keep them out, making them critical where flammable liquids are present.
How It Works:
Foam systems mix water with a foaming agent and air to create a thick, blanket-like foam. This foam smothers the fire by cutting off its oxygen supply and cooling the surface.
Features & Benefits:
• Ideal for flammable liquid fires (like oil or fuel).
• Spreads quickly and sticks to surfaces, preventing re-ignition.
• Can be used in open or enclosed spaces like fuel storage areas, aircraft hangars, and chemical facilities.

From our website: These systems are particularly suitable for class B hydrocarbon fires, fuels, alcohols, and ketones. Fluorine-free foams are alternatives to traditional firefighting foams and are formulated using materials that are more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Spark Detection Systems
Infrared sensors are on alert 24/7 in spark detection systems.

Spark detection provides continuous monitoring and automatic response for ultimate fire protection. It’s like having a fire prevention guard on duty 24/7, catching trouble before flames ever appear.
How It Works:
These systems use highly sensitive infrared sensors to detect sparks or embers in areas like ductwork or conveyor belts. Once detected, the system automatically activates water or CO2 nozzles to extinguish the spark before it becomes a fire.
Features & Benefits:
• Ultra-fast detection—often in milliseconds.
• Stops fires before they start.
• Protects machines and materials in manufacturing, woodworking, and grain handling industries.

From the IEP Technologies website: "Industrial processes covering many different industrial sectors routinely handle explosible dust or powders. Due to the danger of dust explosion, such applications require a very reliable, sensitive and fast detection and extinguishing system."
Flame Fire Detection Systems
Optical sensors provide fast response in flame fire detection systems.

These systems detect smoke, heat, or flames and alert building occupants and emergency services. They include smoke detectors, manual pull stations, control panels, and notification devices like sirens or strobes. Advanced eyes that see fire before most humans can, helping teams respond before damage spreads.
How It Works: Using optical sensors (infrared, UV, or a combination), these systems detect the presence of flames within milliseconds—even in challenging environments like bright sunlight or dusty areas.
Features & Benefits:
• Instant alerts for fast response.
• Works outdoors and indoors.
• Essential in high-risk or remote areas like fuel farms, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
• Integrates with suppression systems for automatic response.
